On 10/10/10 Greenavise, Solar Energy World and Whole Foods Market participated in Kentlands 350, a local community event that was part of a Global Work Party to celebrate climate solutions.
Kentlands 350 showed people ways they can reduce their carbon footprint. The event also taught children the importance of the number 350 through an art project where they drew pictures and wrote about what they could do to help the planet.
350.org is an international campaign that’s building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis—the solutions that science and justice demand. 350.org’s focus is on the number 350—as in parts per million CO2. We are currently at 390 parts per million. Scientists say, the damage we’re already seeing from global warming will continue and accelerate, if we can’t reduce it to 350 or below. But 350 is more than a number—it’s a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.
